The Blessing of Ephraim

Ephraim & Manasseh were blessed together. However, Jacob put Ephraim over his elder brother Manasseh.  Meaning his tribe would be larger than Manasseh's tribe and so it was.

  JOSEPH'S STATEMENT:
"For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction".
  JACOB BLESSES EPHRAIM
Jacob sat up on his bed and blessed  Ephriam and Manasseh First he blessed Joseph and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, the Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
When Jacob blessed Manasseh he laid his right hand on Ephraim and his left hand on Manasseh. The significance of this was since Manasseh was the oldest son he should have the bigger blessing. Joseph thought his father made a mistake because he couldn't see very well.
And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
And his father Jacob refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
   MOSES BLESSES EPHRAIM  AND MANASSEH
Since Joseph had died his blessing passed on to his two sons. Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath, and for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon, and for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills, and for the precious things of the earth and fullness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

The Life of Ephraim

  Joseph's Two Sons
Joseph's two sons were born in Egypt before the famine came. Their mother was Asenath, the daughter of Poti-pherah who was the priest of On. Joseph named firstborn Manasseh And the name of the second called he Ephraim
  Joseph Visits Jacob
When Joseph found out his father Jacob was sick, he took his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim with him to see his father.
Jacob told Joseph he never thought he would see him again and now he is able to see his grandchildren. This is when Jacob sat up on his bed and blessed them.
  Yah Appears to Jacob
He said Yah appeared to him in Canaan and blessed him. He said he will make his seed fruitful and multiply he told Jacob he will make his descendants a multitude of people and will give the land of Canaan seed for an everlasting possession. And their lands should be named after them.
  Jacob Adopts Joseph's Sons
He told Joseph that his two sons are considered his sons like his other sons. (adopting them as opposed to grandsons)
Joseph lived long enough to see his grandchildren; the children of Machir the son of Manasseh.
The family of Manasseh: His son Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead come the family of the Gileadites.
   Moses Assigns Land
Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein. Machir went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites that were in it. And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, Moses gave to half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.
Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; and the Canaanites would dwelt in that land.
And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth-shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
  Joshua Assures Manasseh & Ephraim
Joshua spoke to the house of Ephraim and to Manasseh. He said: You are a great people, and have great power: You shall not not have one lot only: but the mountain shall be yours; for it is a wood, and you shall cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be yours: for you will drive out the Canaanites, even though they have iron chariots, and strong.
And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
They did not drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites and served under their authority.
   Joshua Died
Joshua the son, the servant of the Lord, died, at age 110. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.
Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the Lord, that he had done for Israel.
  Ephraimites Idol Worshisp
The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger. And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Ashtaroth
And the children of Dan set up the graven image: and Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land.
